| How many of these top ten extreme vacations have you been on? I've been on three, but I'm not going to tell you which ones. lol These are some of the best adventurous vacations that you could choose from. You're guaranteed to have a lot of fun on any of these adventure holidays. 10- Mountain Climbing: How about a little mountain climbing for an extreme vacation? While you're at it, why not go on a Mount Everest climbing expedition? Another great mountain to climb on your adventures is Mt. McKinley in Alaska. "Mount McKinley has a larger bulk and rise than Mount Everest. Even though the summit of Everest is about 9,000 feet (2,700 m) higher as measured from sea level, its base sits on the Tibetan Plateau at about 17,000 feet (5,200 m), giving it a real vertical rise of little more than 12,000 feet (3,700 m). The base of Mount McKinley is roughly a 2,000-foot plateau, giving it an actual rise of 18,000 feet (5,500 m)." Now that sounds fun! 9- Helicopter Skiing: Sure, everyone has gone skiing, but how about skiing after jumping out of a helicopter (heli-skiing) in Switzerland on the Swiss Alps? ""Go!" the guide Gianni screamed over the din, and our dazed group of six flopped out the door into white, blinding wind, grabbing our skis from the leg of the helicopter as we went." That sounds like enough fun for any adrenaline junkie! 8- African Safari: I have always wanted to go on an Africa safari. "Go on African safaris and see the amazing wildlife and beautiful scenery on safari. An African safari is the ultimate destination for honeymooners, wildlife enthusiasts, photographers, there is something for everyone." You could customize this travel to make it as extreme of a vacation as you want it to be. Cool! 7- Drag Racing: Did you even know that you can go drag racing, legally? I didn't. How extreme is this? "For a lot less than you might have imagined, you too could suit up in a Nomex suit and burn rubber down the track in your own drag racing car!" I want to go!!!! 6- Fishing In The Amazon: I love to fish, but how cool would it be to go fishing in the Amazon? "Peacock bass fishing in the Amazon is the trip of a lifetime. There are many peacock bass operations to choose from that offer three incredible peacock bass fishing destinations. Contact one today to reserve your dates for your next peacock bass fishing trip to Brazil." Does that sound extreme enough? 5- Diving With Sharks: Are you afraid of jaws? You should be! "Your next adventure vacation involves a 2700 pound Great White shark, his name is "Fat Tony". It will be you, in a cage, at one of the last places on the planet where you can consistently see Great Whites from California. Thought this could never happen to you?" Getting up close with jaws is a bit too creepy for my tastes!! 4- Skydiving: I'll admit that I have been skydiving, and it was an absolute blast! "I always go to skydive Tahoe with just one jump in mind, but I always stay the whole day. I love this place. The Huge hangar is a great place to hang out between loads, which isn't long in the PAC 750, which climbs about 1000ft/min! That plane rules! Great for group exits. The views are unreal, and the weather is usually perfect, even in winter. If you are lucky enough to make a lake load and land on a beach at Lake Tahoe, It'll be the jump of a lifetime. The jump staff there is amongst the best: Aja, Blane, Billy, Perrie, Jay, boy & boy squared.. Check it out! Unbelievable how much potential this place has to become top five DZ's in all the world." Sounds like a great extreme vacation huh? 3- Dive To The Titanic: Did you even think that it was possible to dive to the sunken Titanic? I didn't! For just $40,000 or so, you can actually dive down to the Titanic yourself! "You will journey to the Titanic aboard the MIR I and II submersibles, deep-dive vessels capable of reaching ocean depths of 20,000 feet. Housed aboard the mother ship Akademik Keldysh, the two MIR submersibles are part of a group of only four deep-diving vessels available to the world's scientific community. Constructed of special nickel steel, they are specifically designed to withstand the enormous pressures that exist in the depths of the oceans. Each MIR's habitat compartment is 7' (2.1m) diameter, accommodating three persons. There are no traditional bathroom facilities on board. Air pressure inside the habitat remains at a constant one atmosphere; the air is recycled in a manner similar to that used onboard spacecraft. During the dive, there will be a drop in temperature (to approx 54F or 12C) and some slight internal condensation." Jesus that sounds like some fun! 2- TransAtlantic Sail: Just imagine riding a sailboat across the Atlantic. Dangerous? Yes! Awesome? Hell yeah!! "The time to cross the Atlantic will vary by boat, weather and the motivation behind the trip. The West to East record (Newport to Plymouth) is a little over nine days (just set a few weeks ago). This was a big boat and primed to go all out 24 / 7. I checked for some details on a Cardinal 46 and learned that they can average a cruising speed of between 7.0 and 8.5 knots. This should translate to something between 160 and 200 miles covered per 24 hr. sailing day. If you know the course your friends took and their departure date you can get a rough estimate of where they might be. I also caught race results for just completed Newport, R.I. to Bermuda event in which a Cardinal 46 competed. The distance was rated at 635 miles and the Cardinal took just over four days to complete the course. This is just under 160 miles per 24 hrs. and is in keeping with above info." I wonder if I would survive the trip? 1- Space Travel: For the ultimate freaking extreme vacation we saved the very best for last! How about taking a trip into space?!?!?! "Space tourism is already here, he notes -- the problem is, you need a spare $20 million to pay for a ticket to the International Space Station. Two business tycoons, American Dennis Tito and South African Mark Shuttleworth, have made the trip. But the European Space Agency and NASA have plans to take you into the great beyond, starting around 2020." I can't wait until 2020! Does anyone have $20 million to spare???? There you have it. These are our top 10 extreme vacations to choose from. Which one(s) would you like to try?
