Imagine going hang gliding on a vacation. Now that is what I call an extreme vacation! It just doesn't get any more adventurous than that. There are many
travel destinations that you can choose from for your hang gliding adventure trip. We chose a few of them to talk about.
How about an extreme hang gliding vacation in New Zealand. I found several
travel companies/ guides that specialize in hang gliding in New Zealand. Extreme Air is the only company in New Zealand that can offer you the option of hang-gliding or paragliding tandems, so depending on what sort of thrill seeker you are and the weather conditions at the time, we can cater the flight to your needs, scenic sensation, or adrenalin pumping joy ride. No experience necessary. Extreme Air pilots are accomplished competition pilots who have been ranked 1st in the world in speed gliding (John Smith) and best New Zealand female paragliding aerobatics. Our pilots have thousands of hours experience, so you can be assured your safety is in the best possible hands.
How about hang gliding in the Mendocino National Forest in California? Is that adventurous enough?
Tool Cache Ridge: (Southwest of Elk Creek). Gliders depart from Ponderosa Point and ride approximately two miles with a 2,000 foot descent to the Diamond M landing Strip. The Diamond M Landing Strip is located outside the Forest boundary on private land, so glider pilots must obtain permission from the landowner. Hull Mountain: Gliders depart from the parking area on the Hull Mountain road. The gliding distance is approximately 4.5 miles, with a southerly descent and over 6,000 foot drop to land at the Gravelly Valley Airstrip. Elk Mountain: Gliders depart from the top of Elk Mountain via the four-wheel drive road and ride south some two miles with a 3,000 foot descent and land at Middle Creek Campground.
Another hang gliding travel destination for you adventure travelers is Draper in Utah. Utah's popular hang gliding destination. This former farming town is now a fast growing residential community that includes a good mix of churches and activity centers. Yet the city still maintains its historic charm. You're sure to have a blast!
