where to sit on a 777 for leg room with child? free water on request? flight pack?

Hi there, flying from Aus to Cgy on Air New Zealand with my 4 yr old. Have heard their inflight entertainment is great. I had a recent laparoscopy and can fly next month. Wondering where I could sit and get some extra leg space in economy?? They suggested bassinette row but don't know if arm rests go up? obviously can't have emerg exit due to child and op.

Do you get flight packs in economy[/COLOR]? ie, sleep mask, socks like Qantas?

Are you able to get drinking water on demand? Qantas has a filtered water cooler by the loos that you could fill up water bottles with. Air Canada had only tank water from the loos when I flew with them!! :mad: how crazy is that?
