It's Over - Thank Goodness

Well, the "Samantha S. (now C.) Extravaganza Weekend" is almost over, but the wedding at least is done. We've (I've) been running since 9 AM, and got home 10 minutes ago (12:45 AM, the NEXT day!!). Samantha did beautifully, DH walked her down the aisle (this was an issue, since he doesn't like the groom, but he loves Samantha), the ring bearer only yelled and whined a few times, the Matron of Honor's cell phone only rung once during the service, and the wedding was beautiful. Samantha's dress was gorgeous (mom has pictures, maybe she'll post some!), and only weighed slightly more than she does!! My Dsis and I both "glistened" while putting the dress on Samantha, but it was worth it. Some of the groomsmen didn't show - and that left the 2 jr. bridesmaids to walk back up (down?) the aisle after the ceremony. DH saw the problem, jumped up, and escort both of them down - it was so cute (they were our DD Lauren, 10, and our Dniece, 12). There a huge Awwwww from the crowd! The only real glitch in the whole thing was that the groom's brother's girlfriend (got that?) took the ring bearer's tux and put it on her little boy because "He wanted to look just like his Daddy" (one of the groom's men). Then, she told people she didn't know where the little boy's tux went. All was settled by the bride and the ring bearer's mom - Too bad, hand over the tux!! The ring kid did a wonderful job! (the minister told him if he did he job well, he'd get M&Ms, then right after the ceremony, took him back to the office and paid up!!) And, for any of you that are up on the "MY DH hates my DD's Boyfriend (Now husband)", DH walked up to him today, asked if he wanted to start over, he said yes,they shook, and hopefully the fighting is over. Plus - Samantha's biological father and his family are here - and we really threw the Groom's family for a loop when I danced with him, and DH danced with his wife!! OMG - the looks on some of their faces were priceless!!!! (we all get along well, and like each other) Oh - it's only almost over, because we're having a huge cookout at Samantha's tomorrow - the rehearsal dinnner was 45 people, the cookout will probably be at least 100!!!!
