I've just joined this forum, and it looks like an incredible resource. I found the forum when searching for some information to help explain an issue I had in requesting an upgrade online recently.

I am an E member. Last week I booked a Latitude Plus flight YYT-YYZ-FRA and return (YYZ-FRA is 77W) for mid-October. When I requested an upgrade with an SWU, I was "waitlisted" on all flights. Out of curiousity, I searched seat availability in J class for YYZ-FRA and it showed only one seat occupied on the outbound and three occupied on the return.

Is it common to be waitlisted with so much inventory available? Can I expect the upgrade to be confirm before day of departure? Any thoughts on my chances of getting the upgrades?
