| I'm hoping there are some folks who can speak from experience and reassure me that I haven't made my mother fork out a load of cash for very little benefit. My mother and her partner are about to embark on their first trip to Europe, and they're flying SYD-HKG-LHR then FCO-HKG-SYD all on CX in Y. Both are QF NBs, and as a QF SG who enjoys being able to use lounges when I travel, I suggested purchasing QP membership may make their trip a bit more comfortable. Based on my suggestion, they recently joined the QP. Having looked again at the lounge access rules on the website, I fear I may have made an unfortunate assumption and ultimately a costly mistake for them, as strictly speaking, the rules state they actually need to be flying on a QF, BA or JQ flight number. Are there any fellow FTers out there who have been QP without status, but who have managed to gain access when travelling on CX flight numbers, particularly at SYD Int, and at the BA/QF Lounge in HKG? Are the staff particularly stiff with the rules, or will they barely even bat an eyelid as they wave my mother through? I know that they will definitely not get into the Wing at HKG, but am hoping that the 'lounge gods' will smile at them at SYD and HKG. I realise that FCO is highly unlikely. Many thanks in advance. |
